Tanita Ironman BC-350

I love all the info that this scale provides including body water content and muscle mass. Human bodies fluctuate constantly, so it's important not to keep checking the data everyday, which is tempting with this scale.

Tanita HD351 Digital Scale with Memory Function

This scale is very accurate (it gives the same weight as my doctor's scale...unfortunately, lol)

Because of the low profile it is easier to get onto the scale with my bad knees and the larger size (13 1/2" wide and 15" long) means that I don't have to do a balancing act while trying to weigh myself. And, unlike other scales I've owned, I don't have to stand in exactly the same place everytime to get the correct reading.

Buy this scale, you won't be sorry.

HealthOMeter 349KLX Digital Medical Scale

We wanted a very accurate and consistant scale for home use. Our first attempt was the Tanita HD 372 (reviewed and given one star) that was returned to Amazon.

We bought 349KLX as a much less expensive alternative to the Tanita BWB model which also has an easy to read, wall-mountable display.

The 349KLX runs on one standard 9v battery and has a lit display. We recommend velcro tape rather than the included metal mount to put the display at eye level. The 349KLX is accurate and consistant and weighs to within 2/10ths of a pound. If, for any reason, the display doesn't show "0" when turned on, it has a tare to reset the balance zero. There is also an automatic shutoff to save the battery.

Unlike some scales that lock your weight after a few seconds, this unit continues to adjust until it reaches an equilibrium.

We cannot evaluate this scale for heavy (doctor's office) usage but it is excellent for home use.

Tanita BC554 Ironman Glass InnerScan Body Composition Monitor Elite Series

I've had mine for a couple of years with no problems. I find this Tanita useful in following the general trends of my various body changes. I like it enough that I bought another one as a gift for my father.

Salter 200 Academy Professional Mechanical Scale, White and Gray

All I want, when I step on the scale, is to get my weight, as accurately as possible. Don't need my body fat, don't need my bone density, don't want to have to put in batteries, don't need the day, date or my fortune, just my weight, within 1/2 a pound or so. Oh, and I have to be able to read the scale as well.

This product does just that. That's all it does, but it does it very well. Thank you, Salter.

Ozeri Touch Digital Bath Scale -- Measures Weight, Body Fat, Hydration, Muscle and Bone Mass with Auto Recognition Technology for 8 Personal Profiles

This is a great bathroom scale. Weight is measured to the nearest tenth of a pound and is quite accurate. The scale is fairly easy to set up and will provide additional measurements for: % body fat; % water composition; % muscle composition and bone ratio. While these measurements have greater fluctuation and less accuracy than the weight measurement, they are useful as trend indicators. I run marathons and I find the % water composition to be very helpful and predictive of my hydration levels. The scale design is sleek and low to the floor surface. This is the best scale I've purchased.

Withings - Wifi Bodyscale

I bought this scale November 2011 and has work wonderfully since then.

I have a very bad memory and i don't have time to write my weight up every day, which you need to do if you are going to get into a diet. This take the job and accomplish it w/o problems.

Sometimes it loose connection with wifi router (which is kind of far), but you just put the thing a bit close, push the button on the bottom, and voilá! there you have your data.

I recommend this for anyone who needs to have a record of their weight/BMI to later checks.

It also integrates w/ MS Health Center very nice

Health o Meter HDC100-01 "Grow with Me" Teddy Bear Scale for Babies and Toddlers

I don't know about babies but this scale works very well for weighing large cats, some of whom are interested in going somewere else. The reading will shift around a little as the cat moves and the feature to lock the reading is very helpful. Compared to a kitchen scale that reads in 5 gram increments, it appears to be accurate. The scale seems solidly built. I haven't had it long enough to talk about long term durability.

EatSmart Precision GetFit Digital Body Fat Scale w/ 400 lb. Capacity & Auto Recognition Technology

So, I've owned this scale for a little over two weeks now and have been consistently tracking my results at the times suggested within the user's manual... "To receive the most accurate weight measurement, please weigh yourself first thing when you get up in the morning" and "To receive the most accurate body fat, etc. measurement, please weigh yourself in the evening, before eating."

Having followed this advice, in my initial review I felt that my measurements day-to-day were very consistent, but not that accurate in regards to body composition. Well, with a little help from the Amazon user community, I retract any doubt I once had in this product.

I initially took issue with the body composition measurements not being comparable with those I had received using a hand-held body composition tool at my local LA Fitness. However, after changing the scale setting from "Athletic Male" to just "Male", as suggested by another user, the measurements were spot-on (... maybe I'm not an athlete after all). So, my advice to those purchasing this scale, even if you meet the criteria specified in the manual and "exercise +10 hours of strenuous/aerobic a week"... try both settings. (I'm still curious as to how that setting influences the calculations)

And as for my doubt regarding all of the percentages not adding up to 100% (body fat, total body water, and muscle mass)... that's apparently a misguided expectation on my part. Once again, another user pointed out to me that there's going to be some overlap in the body composition percentages using this type of measuring instrument. By definition, muscle is part water. So from what I understand, water might be counted both in the muscle mass percentage as well as in the total body water percentage, causing the sum of all the percentages to be greater than 100%. Now, if I was a little loose in my explanation there, it's because I don't fully understand it... but a quick search on Google proved that this is in fact the case, and that I should have paid closer attention in Health class.

In conclusion, for the money, you simply can't beat this scale - intuitive set-up (well, maybe not that one setting...), awesome build quality (glass-top, not rubber or plastic like you may think from the pictures), as cool-looking as a scale can be, and most importantly, highly consistent results that are as accurate as can be expected from such a device. Meaning, I'm certain there are more accurate means of determining weight and body composition - but they aren't nearly as practical or affordable as this solution. Excellent deal!

I hope this was helpful, feel free to drop comments or questions.
