This 4D Concepts 3-Piece Slate Square Plant Stands with Slate Tops, Metal/ Slate remarkably versatile. I actually use them as mobile little work tables and take them out-and-about in the garden to hold tools, tool caddies, watering cans, pots to plant in and much more. They are sturdy yet attractive. The slate tops are heavily lacquered so if you want that matt-slate look, this won't work; I have used this surface as a back-drop for macro-photographing small flowers, seed-pods and the like because of its sheen in sunlight. They nest together if you want to conserve space, but at different heights, they can be staggered to create a tiered affect for plants. Once winter comes I'll set them outside with plants on top so they can have more light while they winter over on the deck. They also are attractive enough to be used indoors, as well. My only criticism is that the box they shipped in was banged up and the largest of the three suffered some crushing so one side is slightly bent in; it still stands securely, so while I was disappointed, it wasn't enough to hassle with replacing it. Sturdy, versatile and attractive, this was a great deal!
